DESCRIPTION

Andrew Symington has made a name for himself as an expert in finding exclusive Scotch whiskies. His "Symington's Choice" series represents a careful selection of rare and artfully aged whiskies. A prime example from this series is the Bunnahabhain 2001/2024, which comes directly from Scotland's most prestigious distilleries.

This extraordinary Islay Single Malt was distilled on October 8, 2001, and bottled on February 9, 2024. Aged for 22 years with an alcohol content of 56.5% ABV, this whisky is presented at cask strength, making for a particularly intense tasting experience. The maturation in an Oloroso Sherry Butt imparts complex maritime and fruity notes typical of the Islay region.

The limitation to 427 bottles makes this whisky an exclusive collector's item. Its natural color and the fact that it is non-chill filtered speak to its high quality and purity, which connoisseurs particularly appreciate.

  • Bunnahabhain - Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Nestled in the remote Bunnahabhain Bay on the shores of the Sound of Islay, the Bunnahabhain Distillery, pronounced "Bunn-na-ha-venn," meaning "mouth of the river" in Gaelic, stands as a unique jewel in the Islay whisky realm. Established in 1881, it diverges from the Islay norm with its distinctive unpeated style, offering a different perspective on the region's whisky.

Bunnahabhain is renowned for its gentle, unpeated Single Malt, a stark contrast to the heavily peated whiskies typically associated with Islay. This distinct character is achieved through the use of the tallest stills on the island and the exclusive use of water from a natural spring. The result is a Sherry-infused, delicate, and complex whisky that captivates connoisseurs with its nuanced flavors.

However, Bunnahabhain also caters to those who favor a smokier dram. The Mòine editions, pronounced "moi-gna" and meaning "peat" in Scottish Gaelic, offer a smoky alternative, showcasing the distillery's versatility.

Visitors to Bunnahabhain Distillery are treated to breathtaking views and a deep dive into the art of whisky making. The distillery's commitment to traditional methods, combined with its unique approach to whisky production, makes each bottle of Bunnahabhain a testament to Islay's diverse whisky heritage.

Discover Bunnahabhain Distillery, where the spirit of Islay is redefined, offering a sublime journey through unpeated and peated expressions, each telling a story of the land and the sea.

  • Signatory Vintage

Signatory Vintage, based in Perthshire, Scotland, is a leading independent bottler known since its founding in 1988 by Andrew Symington for its exquisite and rare Scottish whiskies. With access to approximately 35,000 casks, Signatory offers an impressive range of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies that highlight the unique properties of each individual cask.

    Diverse Premium Quality Offerings

The Signatory Vintage product range includes regular bottlings at 43% alcohol content, a cask strength series, and a non-chill-filtered series. Each of these series is appreciated for their purity and authenticity, as they forego artificial colorants and chill filtration. These practices help preserve the natural taste and color of the whisky, which is particularly popular among connoisseurs.

    Preservers of History

A special aspect of Signatory Vintage is their commitment to preserving whiskies from closed distilleries. These bottlings offer enthusiasts the rare opportunity to taste whiskies from a bygone era of whisky production. The acquisition of the Edradour Distillery in 2002 marked another milestone for Signatory Vintage, as they now also oversee the distillation process themselves, thus gaining greater control over production.

    Exclusive Bottlings and Collectibles

Among the notable releases are the Cask Strength Collection, which offers whiskies at cask strength, and the Silent Stills series, which includes the last available quantities from no longer existing distilleries. These series are particularly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs looking for extraordinary and limited editions.
