DESCRIPTION

Erst vor sieben Jahren nahm die Akkeshi Brennerei ihren Betrieb auf und schreibt schon jetzt Erfolgsgeschichte. Wie ihre Vorbilder auf der Whiskyinsel Islay liegt die erste Brennerei der gleichnamigen Stadt in der Region Hokkaido direkt am Meer – nur wenige Meter vom Pazifischen Ozean entfernt. Umgeben von Sümpfen hat sie außerdem direkten Zugang zum örtlichen Torf. Der geliebte Rohstoff kam auch für die neuesten Abfüllungen der „24 Solar Term Series“ zum Einsatz.

Dem ersten Tag der kältesten Zeit des Winters ist Daikan 2022 gewidmet. Entsprechend frostig ist der Look der sechsten Abfüllung aus der „24 Solar Term Series“ der Japaner. Der exquisite Blended Malt vermählt Akkeshi Single Malts, die in Fässern aus der ostasiatischen Jolcham-Eiche sowie in Sherry-, Bourbon- und Weinfässern reiften, mit importierten Grain-Rohbränden. In perfekter Harmonie vereint der leicht rauchige Daikan feine, elegante Noten von Orangentee, braunem Zucker und Meersalz.

Owned by the Tokyo-based trading company Kenten Jitsugyo, Akkeshi is situated in Hokkaido, an area bearing striking similarities to Scotland's Islay, which serves as the inspiration for Akkeshi's spirits. The maritime climate of Akkeshi, with its proximity to the sea, imparts a distinctively maritime flavor profile to its whiskies.
